Tutorial on deleting a patient or results in Spida 5 and changing the password to enable delete

This is a simple guide on how to delete either a patient or a patient result from the Spida 5 software.

  • Select the patient you wish to delete information for.
  • In this case I have selected patient Baines and the time stamp 25/10/2002, which you can see highlighted in blue below

  • Once you have done this, click on Data
  • Then select Enable delete. This will activate the delete function in Spida 5

  • A prompt will then be displayed asking for a password
  • This is where you protect your data so other users cannot delete information from your database. There is a default password which is ADMIN. Although this password can be changed. (see below for more details)
  • Simply enter the password into the box (shown in the screen shot below) and then click OK

  • If you wish to delete the Examination of the patient
  • Click on Data
  • Then click on delete Examination

  • After you've clicked on delete examination the prompt below will be displayed
  • Click on OK

  • Once deleted you will now notice only 1 time stamp with the date 25/10/2002, whereas before we had two

Deleting a patient

  • Again in the patient data I have selected Baines
  • Click on data
  • Then click on Delete Patient

  • The prompt below will then be displayed asking if you are sure you want to delete the patient from Spida 5.
  • Click on OK

  • In the screen shot below you can now see that Baines has successfully been deleted from Spida 5

  • Now click on Disable Delete. This will protect your database and prevent anyone from deleting patients and records

  • Click on Data
  • Now click on Change Password

  • The prompt below will then be displayed
  • Enter the current password (If the password has never been changed, then use the default password - Admin)
  • Click on OK

  • The prompt below will then be displayed asking for your new password
  • Enter the new password
  • Click on OK

  • The prompt below will then be displayed asking you to confirm the new password
  • Re-enter the new password
  • Click on OK

  • You have now successfully changed you password. Please try it out on the enable delete function.
