The best way to connect your Spirometer is to follow this simple step-by-step guide on how your Spirometer should be set-up with the Micro Medical software

Micro Medical has two different Communication ports on their Spirometers, dependent on the spirometer being used.
A: This is the RS232 Cable, which plugs into your Spirometer and the 9-pin jack plugs into your PC, for communication with Micro Medical software.
B: This is the Micro Medical Spirometer, which you have purchased.
RED LINE: The red line in the diagram indicates where the Communication port is on the Spirometer
ACTION: Please place the RS232 Cable adaptor (A) into your Spirometer (B). Please ensure that the adaptor is fully plugged into your Spirometer.

COM2 COM1: As you can see in the above diagram there are two ports labelled COM1 and COM2. The above diagram will aid your recognition of the comm ports at the back of your PC.
ACTION: Please connect the 9-pin jack plug of your R232 cable into your free serial port. Once placed into the port, please make sure you screw the adaptor into the PC tightly. Please try to take note what serial port you have plugged the 9 pin jack into.

MicroLab/Loop: This MicroLab/Loop has no function keys on the keypad. The diagram above shows the communication screen for this product, to obtain this screen, simply switch on the Spirometer.
MicroLab/Loop with Function Keys: This is the latest range of the MicroLab/Loop, which has functions on the keypad display. The diagram above shows the communication screen for this product, to obtain this screen, simply switch on the Spirometer.
