PulmoLife:
A unique electronic FEV1 meter that reports an individual’s ‘Lung Age’
PulmoLife is a new COPD screening device, designed for quick and easy screening of adult smokers for early detection of COPD. Smokers are at the greatest risk of developing COPD and decline in lung function in susceptible smokers has been shown to be twice that of non-smokers.
This small, innovative device measures FEV
1, the measurement of choice in COPD screening. The unit will display a patient’s result together with the FEV
1 as a percentage of their predicted value. These results are used to calculate a ‘Lung Age’. The associated ‘Lung Age’ graphical display may help the patient realise the physical damage caused by smoking, encouraging attendance for smoking cessation advice and full spirometry assessment, leading to early diagnosis and appropriate management of COPD.
Features
• Measures FEV
1 — the measurement of choice in COPD screening
• Gives FEV
1 result as a percentage of predicted values
• ‘Lung Age’ Interpretation (Morris and Temple)
• Used as a motivational tool for smoking cessation
MicroRMA
(Respiratory Muscle Analyser)
Unique Endurance and Strength Analysis of the Respiratory Muscular System
Micro Medical Ltd introducing the
MicroRMA (Respiratory Muscle Analyser), a patient friendly, handheld device enabling the quick and efficient examination of both the Endurance and Strength of the respiratory muscles;
The driving force behind the ability to breathe!
The MicroRMA is designed to quantify the endurance of the respiratory muscles alone, concentrating solely on the patients’ ability to breathe. The patented variable aperture allows unprecedented access to Constant Resistance, which works with the patient in a natural and responsive manner. The MicroRMA is simply connected to a PC or laptop, by USB, to provide healthcare professionals with an essential breakthrough in the fields of respiratory assessment and pulmonary rehabilitation, where the relationship between the COPD patient and their ability to breath is of critical importance.
• Respiratory Endurance Analysis at Constant Resistance
• Respiratory Strength Analysis at User Defined Lung Volumes
